Dream

Night 1: I was flying in my multi thrusted rocket, flying around space enjoying what I saw. I went to every planet in the Solar System and landed on Mars because I wanted to start setting up a Space HQ in Mars. So I marked out the spots where the building would go and then hopped back in my rocket and flew off. I was going back to Earth to get all the materials I needed and some help as well, BUT when I first got a glimpse of Earth. There were a lot of Meteor Rocks coming at me. So I was trying to dodge them all but one rock hit my ship and then I fell out of my ship screaming. But suddenly I woke up.


Night 2: I went to go and inspect a planet NASA assigned me to go to. The planet was called a SuperEarth because they reckon that if we planted some trees and it had Oceans, rivers and ponds, Humans could live on the planet. So I went in the Space shuttle to go to SuperEarth but I had to stop at the I.S.S for some gas. So I filled up with gas and went to SuperEarth. When I first saw SuperEarth, it looked wonderful when I saw it and then I landed. When I hopped out of the Shuttle. I got a wonderful greeting from Aliens that had Ray guns and started attacking me. I had to run back to the shuttle to retreat but they shot the shuttle and it blew up. So I panicked until one of the Aliens wanted to shoot the Ray Gun at me. Then I woke up, at the middle of the night heavily breathing, trying to calm myself down and went back to sleep.


Night 3: I was on the moon making a cool Moon Cheese for the Supermarkets to show and maybe sell for some good money. It was a really cool like bluey reddish colour but the taste was really yum. I even videotaped me eating the moon cheese and posted it on social media for other people to see what could come out in the supermarkets. But on the down side of this moon cheese was that it was limited because you get it off the moon. So that meant it would be really expensive. So I packed a bunch on Moon Cheese and went back to Earth in my rocket. The Supermarkets thought that the Moon Cheese price to sell should be $20,99. I was delighted by that. Then all the buyers came in to buy it. At the end of the day, all the Moon cheese was gone, but all the money that the SuperMarket got. All of it went back to me. Then I woke up sad because the good cool dream was over.


Night 4: Me and some of my other friends went to the moon just to build a mansion that we could live in. We had this much money because we made a viral toy that is to let your pets talk. Even though it was expensive, everyone bought it. That’s why Me and my friends are building a mansion on the moon. It didn’t take that long for the mansion to be built but then we thought to ourselves that if we can build a 5 star luxury hotel and get a loads of money out of it and then donate some of that money to all kinds of charities. All of us agreed to do this and the Hotel was built in no time. The Hotel was basically booked out everyday because everyone wanted to stay there. But then my Dad walks into my room and wakes me up and I groan at him because I said to him “I was having the best dream until you had to ruin it”.


Night 5: There was a big Alien vs Army fight in Space. It was like WW3 but the whole world was on our side and we were fighting the Space creatures basically. So it was a huge war. I was assigned to being in a fighter jet shooting down all the other Alien warships. So when I flew up into space ready to battle and take down the Alien warships. I was getting siked up to just demolish them and shoot every warship down, so when I arrived I was ready. When I got there, I didn’t expect an Alien MotherShip to be there with a lot of warships inside it. It was big and was basically invincible to shoot it down. I was taking a lot of warships down and occasionally shooting the MotherShip to weaken its health. There were a lot of fighter jets coming from across the world. The Aliens was beating us brutally and was able to start shooting Earth, until the one and only Darth Vader came out of nowhere and destroyed the MotherShip. The war was over but sadly, a lot of good men died.


Night 6: I was somehow the person that landed on the moon first and put the American flag on the moon. It felt so surreal and amazing because the first person to land on the moon and put the American flag on the moon first. Coming back was the sad part though. The rocket had some sort of mechanical problem that couldn’t be fixed until we got back to Earth. It was a big problem. It was something to do with the engine I think. So we had to control the engine safely because we are in Space and Earth is a long way away. So we had to monitor it carefully. Then it started overheating, we started to panic because we could just see Earth. Then something blew up in the back. It was loud and we knew that it was the engine that gave up and just blew up I guess. Then the explosion came up to the cockpit and then that blew up. Us 3 men died in that explosion and was the only men to ever go to the moon ever in world history.

Should Fireworks be banned

Should fireworks be banned?

In my opinion, I think fireworks should be banned because it can harm and annoy a lot of things.


Firework smoke is very rich in tiny metal particles. Blue from copper and white from barium compounds. Firework smoke can also lead to air pollution problems which is bad because we are trying to protect and save the Earth from extension.


Air Pollution can be really bad for animals because animals need oxygen and they depend on it. It can be harmful when the air is contaminated, harmful gases and particulates. If these are inhaled, it can accumulate in their tissue over time and causing damage to their organs as well. The very loud and big fireworks can hurt animals as well. They can receive physical damage to their hearing organs. Dogs get the worst of it because they can suffer irreversible hearing loss.


If fireworks aren’t used properly and safely. It can cause damage to the environment and even yourself. If people don’t use them properly, they could get maimed or even killed! Firework noise can also cause distress and cause tinnitus or deafness.


So my conclusion is that I think that fireworks should be banned but I still love fireworks. I like the noise, the bright colours and everything about them. There are even fireworks that don’t harm the environment and animals at all. There are quiet fireworks and there are sparklers that have no smoke at all.

Amazing Race

On Wednesday 16th October, 40 kids from Room 2 and Room 4 went to the High School to do the Amazing Race that the Year 12's organized. We got put into teams of 4 and a country with a team. In my team we had, Sam as the Leader, Me, Morgan G, Kyah and Billy. My team got NZ as the country. There were 5 games to play and you would playoff to win against another country. The most points combined with all the games wins. But before that we had to make up a chant and I had no Idea what to do and the rest of us didn’t know what to do. But then we made one up and it went a little something like this, KIWI KIWI KIWI KIWI WE ARE KIWIS YAY!!!! The first game we played was the Haka Challenge. The country that we versed was Australia. You had to put some movements in the right order 3 times to win the game and we ended up winning. Then you had to wait until the siren went off to go to the next game and if you got there first, you would get an extra point for getting there first. Then we raced off to get to the challenge and we got there first. Extra point to us. Then we did the next challenge. It ended up being my favourite challenge because you have a fruit bowl on your head and you hold it with a towel and then you have to go through a course and get to your teammate and then they do it. We won that challenge, so that was 2 for 2 challenges that we did. Then we got ready to run to the 3rd challenge, READY, SET, GO!!! We ran off to get to the Challenge first and I am pretty sure, yeah we got there first. It was a soccer challenge and we lost that challenge by a 100 points because you had to hit a target and on the back of that target was points to get. Then we went to the next challenge which was to hold a lolly with chopsticks through an obstacle course and get a ball in the bucket and put it in the bowl so the next player could go in your team. Sadly though, we lost again. So that was 2 wins out of 4 games. Then we had the lucky last game. We knew we had to win this to even have a chance to come in the podium. It was like bowls but I forgot what the actual name is called. We won and we were happy because we got to win 3 out of 5 games. Then after we ate lunch and did a circle thing where you shared what you liked about it with one word. I said challenging. Then we had a mini prize giving and they announced 2nd first. They said it was only one point apart from 2nd and first. They said New Zealand and our group was happy but we lost to 1st by a point. Overall it was a fun day and I was happy where we came.

Duffy Books

These are my Duffy Books that I got this term and I LOVE THEM. We are so lucky to get Duffy Books because we are a Duffy School that gets Duffy Books every term. Over 100,000 NZ children gets a Book Catalogue with 80 book titles in it to pick from.

D-Day is a book that I got because It looked cool and the best thing is it came with a working Compass.

And this is the Other book that I got. This is called Liars No Survivors. I got this book because the book description looked really cool when I read it and thats why I decided to get that book.

Lunar Module

Our topic for this term is Space. One of the tasks was to make a Lunar Module that can hold 2 Lego Mini-figures in it. It took me a while to make it because you had to have all these 5 things on your Lunar Module.

1: The lunar module has four splayed-out shock absorbing legs ending in bowl-shaped pads.

2: The lunar module didn’t have to worry about being aerodynamic as its operated in the near vacuum of space present on the moon. They didn’t need to consider the force of gravity. Instead it was made boxy and chunky looking.

3: One of the most important features on top of the lunar module was the Rendezvous Radar Antenna. The radar provided the guidance system to attach the lunar module back to the CSM Module.

4: To act as a thermal control to protect the astronauts most of the exterior of the Lunar module was covered in protective multi-layer insulation foil.

5: The interior of the lunar module was designed to be operated by two astronauts standing up. They had to remove the seats to make the craft lighter.

I am pretty sure that I have all these things on my Lunar Module.
